Reunion with WenWen

Finally got to meet with Wendy tonight~ We went out for dinner at a bubble tea restaurant and then went out to play some Wii Fit. For some reason the Wii Fit controller didn’t seem to work too well on my fluffy carpet - the weight Wendy was measured while leaving the board on the carpet is 29 pounds lighter than putting the board directly on the hardwood floor. I wonder why it wouldn’t work on the carpet. I guess it was because of the buffer created by the material of the carpet so when you step on the board, some of your weight/force is dissipated. Well guess I’ll have to roll up the carpet whenever I play it…

Gifts from Wendy - Hokkaido tripGifts from Wendy - Hokkaido tripGifts from Wendy - Hokkaido tripAlso received some Valentine’s gifts/souvenir from Wendy for her Hokkaido (Japan) trip. Got a Shiroi Koibito ?????? chocolate box set, with her photo printed directly on the cover of the box! It was really cool and the chocolate was tasty too :D Also got a Strawberry Chocolate round box set made by Rokkatei ?????, which was apparently really popular in Hokkaido even though I hadn’t heard of it before. Lastly it was a music box that she assembled herself, added a star and a piggy with a heart to the top of the music box, both made with glass. The tune was Kimi o Nosete / ????? which was the theme song for my #1 favorite Miyazaki anime “Castle in the Sky” (????). Thanks Wenwen!

Pretty boring

It’s a pretty boring day….nothing much happened. Just playing with my new binocular/digital camera that I got from Canadian Tire yesterday. A 8×32 binocular that has a built in 3 megapixel camera. It can take both pictures and short video clip….kinda cool. The picture quality was just so so but I think it’s quite adequate for such a small device. I’ll have to take more pictures during the day to tell whether it’s a take or a refund…lol.

Oh, and I took a picture of what I had for dinner *yesterday*…(today’s dinner was too boring to mention). It was a healthy salad with chicken strips, fruit and some egg slices…haven’t really had a salad for maybe half a year or so…

08′ Company Xmas Dinner

Just got home from Active Network’s annual Xmas dinner held at the Renaissance Hotel. It wasn’t too bad, free food and two free drinks. When I got there I soon realized there were wayyy more people that work at Active than I thought - the reception hall was totally packed, and NOISY since everyone was trying to speak to their loudest volume in order to be louder than person next to them…etc. Well I got a free champagne and free photographs (taken by some dude that was smiling so much at us right at the entrance), and then people started to be seated so I just grabbed an empty seat and sat down. Soon my boss and his wife came and we chatted a lot about their son Zacky and some other random stuff.

The appetizer was some artichoke salad and apparatus, which was pretty sour but tasty. Then it came some regular bread and after that the main course, which was some sockeye salmon with some Risotto-like rice - it was just so so, had to put loads of salt to make them a bit tastier. Dessert was pretty good, a chocolate brownie/fudge kind of thing with creamy vanilla sauce on top.

There was a raffle at the end of the party but I didn’t stay for it as we were told that the raffle wouldn’t start in a while…actually I waited for about 30 minutes before decided to leave. Overall it’s a pretty fun dinner and … what else could have been better than a free hotel dinner~ :)

T T…

Didn’t really do much today despite it’s a Sunday.. That was because I said something harsh to Wendy to make her unhappy… and I’m really regretful for doing it… sorry bebe… ( ; . ;)

Sometimes I find it really hard for myself to control my emotion when I get frustrated…..

Frustration is a feeling of powerlessness and helplessness when something goes wrong in our lives or when we the result of a certain action does not meet our expectation.
Frustration causes people to be angry and rude. It damages relationship and harms ones health.
Frustration if left uncorrected can spiral into negative events like accidents or impulsive decisions like quitting a job. It could also damage a marriage or a relationship.

Here are some cures:

1) Set goals based on your desires and passions not what others want from you.

2) Learn to be kind to yourself

3) Identify if you are constantly feeling like a victim. When we believe that we are victims we operate from powerlessness. Heal past pain that has caused you to believe you are a victim.

We attract our reality based on our emotions and beliefs. If you want your circumstances to change you have to heal and change your emotions.

4) Visualize your goal very morning. This allows your thoughts ane emotions to remain focussed on what you want and what you can achieve. It also helps you to start the day with positive vibrations.

5) Be patient. The universe in its divine intelligence will manifest your desire. Do your best and then let go.

6) Do you want to control everything? And when things don’t go your way do you get frustrated? Release the need to control everything and enjoy life. Do your best and then surrender to the divine.

7) Need for perfection. Heal the need for perfection. The need for perfection takes away the peace from ones life.

8 ) Understand that life has challenges. The challenge seems bigger when you are overwhelmed with negative emotions. The same challenge will appear different when you approach it with a calm and trusting attitude.

9) Competition is good only when it is at a healthy level. Are you constantly comparing your work with another person? You are a unique and divine child of god, realize this and cherish your potential.

4)-7) is especially true IMO.. while other ones are pretty applicable to the other aspects of my life. I’m well aware of that I really lack patience. But that was how I grew up, and I have been a believer of that what brought me to the point where I am now was my personality, and my personality have been great since I’m semi successful on almost every aspect of my life. Thus, there is no need for altering any aspect of my personality, in this case being impatient. In fact, I have been really successful in accomplishing numerous tasks in life in a higher quality than what other people did thanks to my impatience and my perfectionist personality. However what I don’t understand is whether or not my current state is as best as I could possibly get, or there is room for refinement. I wish someone like God could give me some guidance…

I’m just going to watch some TV and eat some dinner, to make the rest of my day…

Platinum Visa

Had some cheap but tasty dinner for tonight~ Got the “3 items with rice” take out ($4.75) from the Richmond Public Market with fried squid tentacles, soya sauce chicken, and eggplants. It was huge I was only able to finish maybe 2/3 of it~ I like this place since it’s so cheap yet tasty/huge portion. :D

Also got my first platinum VISA card from Royal Bank today. The annual fee is waived for the first year, plus I get 15000 RBC Reward Points which is a equivalent of $340 worth of gifts~ Plus all kinds of insurance I believe. It’s kind of pro as I’ve received four separate letters about this card, like thank you letters, PIN code, benefits….etc. I feel like a VIP now for some reason. :D I’ll check out the benefits later on, now I should go in and check to see if I’ve gotten my 15000 extra points!

hi Brandy

Awesome Chinese dishesAlice, Matthew, and IWent to Alice and Matthew’s place at False Creek for dinner. Alice quitted her day job so she’s pretty free at home. She invited me over for home-made dinner and of course, it was an awesome meal! She made a bunch of Chinese dishes like oyster in ginger garlic sauce, mixed veggie with Singaporean curry, steamed pork with preserved veggie, scrambled egg with tiger prawns, and…this other dish that I’m not too sure how to name it in English..some part of a cow’s stomach (upper right dish in the pic) ? Anyway the dishes were awesome especially the huge oysters. Tiger prawns were good too. We had some Japanese sake and Japanese plum wine(or “Umeshu” in Japanese) It was my first time trying out the plum wine, I thought it was too sweet but it certainly has this unique taste, especially when served warm.

Brandy and his momLazy dogAnd of course, as usual I played with their doggy Brandy. He seems to recognize me everytime I go there..maybe he’s left some kind of a trace on my body? He’s not as naughty as before I guess he’s grown up a lot (he’s like 1.5 year-old now). I treated him some dried apple and he was pretty crazy about it - I can tell that easily since he ”sat” obdiently when he saw the piece of treat that I’m holding, guess he’s trying to be nice just so I’ll treat him..lol.

Bird’s eye view from Alice’s unit (took with Canon G9)Downtown Vancouver sihouette - from Hasting StreetOh also check out this awesome night view from their unit (you can see half of the Science World from it)…Took with my new Canon G9…:) The other picture was taken on the way to Alice’s place, on Hasting Street. I thought it was kind of cool to be able to see the silhouette of Downtown Vancouver so I snapped this shot at a red light.
