Socks

I had to threw away a pair of old socks that I’ve worn for the past few years since they were too small and also they were getting worn out. When I did that I was feeling bad, since U was getting rid of something that had been loyal to me and worked for me for many years…I missed them (lol?). I then wondered, did the pair of socks feel bad because of what I was doing to them? Were they getting hard feelings? I told myself that it wasn’t possible as they were not living beings, thus did not have any sense of emotion or anything. I pondered again… Well even if the socks themselves didn’t have feelings, what about the atoms that existed at the cellular level? They were kind of “alive” as they move around and stuff…they could possibly have their individual souls…no? If that’s the case, since they have been stuck together in the form of pair of socks for many years, wouldn’t they have became friends of each other? If I throw them away they would probably get torn apart in either the dump truck or at the dumpster site… they would probably be separated with their friends forever. Also they might get squeeshed and be painful or die during the process and I would have become the murderer?

Would some of the particles in the pair of socks had been looking forward for so long to be worn by me (in the form of a pair of socks) and just now I threw them away and thus turning their wishes into ashes? All these questions and new ones are coming out of my mind in a continuous fashion (It was about 30 minutes now since I did it and I’m still thinking about it).

I don’t know, I feel weird throwing away a pair of old socks.
