Super nice day out today, and warm. I think it was 20 degrees. I drove out for a bit, took some pics of the blue sky with my new Canon SD1000 camera. It’s the smell of summer! Can’t want to do some outdoor activities. Oh I’m going to Banff next week, wish weather will be as nice as today…

Went to had dinner with Benny, Peter, and Dorothy since Dorothy came back from Hong Kong so we had a meet up at a bubble tea place. I met Dorothy last November, but she hasn’t met Benny and Peter for ages. We had a pretty good chat about basically everything. After dinner Peter and I went to place near the airport to take some night time pictures trying out his new Sony A350 DSLR camera. Actually we went to River Road to take some sunset pictures as well. I tried to use EV bracketing function to take the same picture 3 times with different EV settings, and used an application called Photomatix to generate a HDR image. Turned out to look pretty amazing!

BBQ party at Matthew’s friend’s house in New Westminster. He turned 40! Got there around 7….stayed till like 3am. It was quite fun to meet a bunch of people and strangely they were mostly locals.There were like…more than 10 of them including their kids (some kids were at my age). Well guess it’s always more fun to do it with locals as Chinese usually aren’t as crazy and funny.We had some pretty tasty appies then some of the guys started up the heater thing which quickly became the focal point of the night. We chopped some logs with some huge axe and threw them all in. It was quite a huge fire. Not after long a couple guys got drunk from the unlimited supply of beer/wine/shooter, and they started throwing in everything like paper plate, newspaper, trashed xmas tree…. Matthew got tons of presents, including 40 rows of toilet papers from one of his friends…pretty hilarious.

We had LOADS of food, some crazy delicious steak and grilled chicken, loads of chips/appies, caramel/espresso shooters (I really gotta look this espresso shooter up it’s called Van Gogh it was so tasty), vodka jello, different wines brought by his friends….etc. It was a really fun night, it was fun and energetic, and I love the fire! Had some long chats with Alice and Matthew, also his realtor friend (can’t remember his name). I couldn’t believe I was having fun chatting with all these people that are at least 15 years older than I am, lol.

Went to see dentist today. I thought he’s going to do fillings for one teeth but….ended up doing five! Argh…. stayed there for almost an hour an half, plus the wait time for the numbing shots (he did it on 3 areas) which was about 15 minutes. He was saying I got cavities and all that but I really doubted it….I looked at my teeth they were pretty nice and clean not even sure where the cavities were, but oh well, it’s free since I’m covered by insurance. Luckily I’m insured as otherwise I’d be paying close to $900 before I could walk out of the door….. guess I should be happy or something? Even though my tongue is still all numb and also I’m having problem closing my mouth properly ….lol guess it’s all good… Will try eating some food now see if I can even bite…lol

It was really a nice day out otherwise, probably the first day driving with roof off that didn’t feel cold

Finally able to get on and write some blog… Had a crazy week since my harddrive was dead, which gave me a really bad time as I had really critical data on the drive and I couldn’t afford losing any of them. Luckily I was able to recover most of the data, including all my emails, and some of my documents. I hate Western Digital!!!! I hate Raptor! Sorry it’s the name and model of the harddrive. Bought it less than a year ago and it already died on me. Pretty lame. Anyway I sent it back the the manufacturer for a replacement, while waiting for the shipment to come I found a great deal on a Seagate 500GB harddrive (model is 7200.11 I think) from ncix.com, and got it for like $86. Pretty amazing deal and the drive is really fast. After a couple days of copying and messing around I managed to get most of my stuff back into shape….

Other than the shitty harddrive that killed my mood, I’ve been watching Death Note (Japanese anime) for a while and just finished the last episode yesterday. It was pretty good, lots of suspenses, great picture…etc. I didn’t like the ending tho it’s nothing out of ordinary.  I’ve already watched the Death Note movie that’s done by real people, the anime version of it is way better. Also heard that there’s a sequel, guess I’ll do some research and download it if possible, lol.
