so happy so happy so happy….so happy

Just feel so happy today finally received the $2000 check from the ecoAuto rebate program. The government gives car owners rebate of $1000-$2000 (depending on the car model) when you purchase a green/environmental friendly car. And of course my Smart Car qualifies for it big time, lol :) Anyway I don’t have anything I want to get so I guess I’ll just deposit the check~~~ took them almost 4 months to process my application and it finally came…. wahhh so happy so happy so happy

Japanese movie review - Sugar Princess / ????? / Anmitsu Hime

Anmitsu Hime - year 1987 cartoonAnmitsu Hime - 2008It’s Mao Inoue again! Being her #1 fan after watching Hana Yori Dango and a couple other of her dramas, how can I miss this new one of hers. Plus, Anmitsu Hime (Sugar Princess) was one of my favorite cartoons when I was like 7 or 8 years old. Still remember some episodes like how Princess Anmitsu saw ghosts in a castle and I was hella scared…lol. And now they turned this classic cartoon into a real movie, so awesome…Check out a trailer / interview on Yourtube here, or click here for the official site. By the way “Anmitsu” (????) is the word for a Japanese dessert that has been popular for many decades.

Anmitsu Hime - 2008Anyway, here is the synopsis: Inoue Mao stars as Princess Anmitsu, a tomboy princess who feels restrained by the orderly and boring life in the castle. On her 16th birthday, after being introduced to a series of unappealing candidates for her hand in marriage she decides to sneak out of the castle to find true “?????” (love). She wrecks havoc on the town, defeats bad guys and discovers the true meaning of “?????”. Inoue Mao is completely adorable and believable as the naive and headstrong Princess Anmitsu and the rest of the cast is equally believable and entertaining. The series never takes itself seriously and the ending is quite sweet.

It is a highly recommended comedy! (as usual since I usually don’t review crappy movies) It’s just a 1.5 hour movie so make sure you buy/download it!

I eat poo, lol

Bighorn sheep droppings - chocolate coated rasinWent to Konbinniya (a Japanese convenient store that I’d just call it the-Pocky-store since they sell hell lots of Pockys) last night and saw this farily interesting pack of “Bighorn Sheep Droppings”. Apparently it’s not real sheep poo but some chocolate coated rasins. Got a pack since it’s too interesting to miss and it would be some nice blog material…lol. Anyway, it turned out to be pretty tasty. Nice smooth chocolate with rasins that aren’t too dried/hard (I really hate those)… I think I love eating poo afterall :)

Night Skiing (I mean…snowboarding)

My Smart car - carring two snowboards!Went to Grouse Moutain for snowboarding on Thursday night with Boom (yea my Korean friend is named “Boom” pretty awesome name imo) He brought me a ski pass so I was able to snowboard for the night for free :) AND also I found out something awesome. I was SHOCKED to find out that I was in fact able to stick TWO snowboards into my little Smart car! I didn’t know I was able to do that until yesterday for some reason I came up with this idea to open up the soft window at the back of the car, and slide the two snowboards into there. After sliding them all the way down only about 1/4 of the boards were sticking out, and it was totally safe when I pulled the soft rear window back down which pushed onto the board and kind of secured them in place. It was so cool! Never thought I could take 2 person and 2 snowboards on this car..:)

Grouse MountainGrouse MountainGrouse Mountain - night view (pretty bad image)I was so happy and I offered to pick up Boom and take him to the mountain. I used to hate Grouse Mountain a lot since I hated lining up for the Gondola (a super huge cable-based lift that takes you to the mountain from the base, can take more than 100 people) even though it’s kinda cool to ride. Well it was pretty empty on a Thursday night so I was pretty happy. I got to practice a lot of the things that I’ve been wanting to try out since couple weeks ago when I was snowboarding at Cypress but didn’t get a chance to do since they were closing. Boom was a really good snowboarder and he taught me some basic skills and gave me some really helpful hints on balancing and turning, a very nice guy. We had a really great time there and we kept on doing the runs until the guy at the lift told us that it’s going to be the last run…lol….pretty pissed off hearing that since at that instance I was going to try out some new poses see if it’d help balancing. Anyway. I left my board at Boom’s place as he’s going to wax it for me for free!
